Our plum trees for sale provide the highest quality fruits year upon year and are available in cooking and dessert plum varieties. The delicious fruit from our plum trees is ready for picking from late summer to early autumn, making them a great addition to any garden. We have plum trees available on dwarfing rootstocks for small gardens, more vigorous plum trees for Orchard settings and paddock, as well as trees for training against a wall or space-saving column trees too!   • Angelina Burdett Plum Trees

     A productive heirloom variety from the 1850’s that remains durable and reliable. The dusky violet purple circular fruits have a juicy greenish yellow flesh and an excellent flavour. The fruits are easily stoned and suitable for dessert or culinary purposes. A long flowering period ensures this variety often gives a crop when others may fail. Partly self fertile but for the best results pollinate with Marjories Seedling, Swan, Groves Late Victoria, Jubilee or Verity. Season late August-September. 

  • Anna Spath Plum tree

     A late dessert Plum for eating into October that has an excellent flavour. Red-purple fruits with a slight blue flush produced on an upright tree, a very heavy cropper. Anna Spath is an introduction from Germany with many high qualities. Partially self fertile and will usually produce a worthwhile crop on it’s own, for best results pollinate with Victoria or Czar.

  • Avalon Plum Trees

    A large dessert plum that ripens late August usually about a week to 10 days earlier than the popular Victoria. The fruits are round oval with a red skin and light bloom. The large fruits have a lovely flavour and are virtually freestone. Yield is slightly less than Victoria but some 70% of the crop is large fruits of very high quality. Avalon will normally be pollinated with Victoria but Edwards and Valor are recommended. Avalon is a superb variety, and well worth a trial planting.

  • Avon Cross Plum Tree

     An interesting and valuable old cultivar raised in Bristol around 1921. The large oval plum fruits are light purple over green-gold and are ideal for dessert or cooking. They have a rich, greengage like flavour and the blossom is self fertile. Stock limited.  Season Mid to Late September. Ideal for dessert, stewing, bottling, jams pies and freezing. 

  • Belle De Louvain Plum Trees

    A cooking variety, with large scarlet-red fruits that become almost purple when ripe in August. Vigorous, upright growth, and very heavy cropping. Self fertile, so no pollinators are needed. A very richly flavoured variety

  • Black Prince Plum trees

     An old English plum tree variety that was raised in Bedfordshire in 1923. The medium to large deep dusky violet-purple fruits ripen almost to black and have a succulent yellow-green flesh. They ripen early to mid August and are easily stoned. A beautiful flavour for dessert use, mild and sweet.  This is a variety we get asked for very frequently and demand usually exceeds supply. Good pollinators are Czar, Rivers Early Prolific, Jubilee, Opal and Edda. 

  • Blue de Belgique Plum tree

     Syn Belgian Blue. A hardy and productive tree with good quality deep blue/purple fruits, ripening mid August. Pleasant, sweet dessert flavour that may also be used for all culinary purposes. Juicy yellow flesh. Partially self fertile and also pollinates with Marjories Seedling, Czar, Jubilee and Victoria.

    An early variety with the blue-black yellow fleshed fruits of fine dessert quality which are ready to eat from mid August. Heavy cropping, reliable and self fertile so will crop well on its own.   • Coe’s Golden Drop Plum Trees

    Yellow fruits with red dots on the sunny side. This variety insists on a sheltered position and excels against a wall. A very worthwhile variety with delicious, slightly apricot flavoured fruits. Ideal pollinators: Denniston Superb, Warwickshire Drooper, Victoria etc.

  • Coopers Large Plum Trees

    An unusual American raised variety with handsome large purple red oval fruits for use early-mid september. Flesh juicy, yellow, good for dessert.   Has produced some fine sizeable fruits here but although it has been known in the UK for some years, has proved an an unreliable cropper here. One for the enthusiast or may prove more prolific against a warm wall or similar aspect. Pollinate with Avalon, Marjories Seedling, Swan, Monarch etc. 

  • Cox’s Emperor (Syn Queens Crown) Plum Trees

    A historical regal plum re-introduced. Such an eating sensation could not possibly have remained a secret for so long, could it? For this outstanding variety has such an endless list of fine qualities. First it is the huge size of its perfect oval fruits, then it is the beautiful soft yellow skin, just lightly blushed with pink on the sunny side… the succulent juice-dripping golden flesh… quite possibly the finest eating sensation the Plum family has to offer. Partly self fertile and therefore setting a good yield on its own, this huge Plum will have friends and neighbours lining up…

  • Curlew Plum Trees

     Strikingly beautiful medium-to large briliant violet purple circular fruits which ripen mid to late August. This is a hardy and productive tree thaty is partially self pollinated and also accepts pollen from most other varieties. The fruits are unsuited to dessert use but when cooked become juicy and richly flavoured. Suitable for all culinary purporses. An interesting old and rare variety, raised in Hertfordshire in 1887 no less. 

  • Czar Plum Trees

    August picking. the medium sized fruits are dark purple and oval. The flesh is yellow/green, very juicy with a good acid flavour. A reliable popular cooking plum that is prolific and hardy, bearing a heavy crop. Good frost resistance. The trees are moderately vigorous, upright and self fertile, for no pollinators are needed.

    A Norwegian variety raised by crossing Czar x Peche. An early variety ready in late July, this is a little known but most promising variety The large oval deep blueblack fruits are of excellent quality and have a good dessert flavour but it is the cooked produce of this variety that so impressed us – wonderfully rich and sweet! An excellent choice for an early dual purpose variety. Very hardy. Pollinate with: Victoria, Pershore Yellow, Czar, Opal etc.

  • Excaliber Plum Trees

    very Large dessert plum of exceptional quality Ripening late August-early September, the round oval fruits have a red-yellow skin with a light bloom. Flavour is good with a crisp juicy texture and the fruits are virtually freestone. Yield has been higher than Victoria with 95% of the total crop in the large high quality grade. Pollinate with Victoria.

    New for our lists. A very early plum that is usually ready for picking in late July. The fruits are medium sized, blue-black and free from the stone with ease. The quality is outstanding and the flavour good. Self fertile, no pollinators required.

    The fruits are round, yellowy green, with bronze markings. A gage flavoured plum, with excellent flavour. A moderate, upright growth that is ready for picking in late September. Pollinate with: Denniston’s Superb, Warwickshire Drooper, Victoria etc.
