NECTARINES

Similar to peaches, but the fruits are slightly smaller, have a smoother skin and different flavour. The cultural requirements are the same as with peaches. Very hardy.

JOHN RIVERS

Probably the earliest outdoor nectarine. Large, golden yellow fruits with crimson flush and stripes. The flavour is very rich and juicy. Ripens mid July.

LORD NAPIER

A very regular cropper, that produces large extremely flavoursome, richly aromatic fruits. Ripening in early August, the fruits are pale yellow with a crimson flush. The most well known and popular nectarine.

ELRUGE

Medium sized fruits of pale green with a dark purple flush. Very good flavour and excels when grown under glass or given the protection of a wall. Ripening late August.

HUMBOLDT

A very rich flavoured variety, with golden flesh. The medium to large fruits are yellow orange with a dark crimson flush. An exceptionally heavy cropper that ripens in late August.

NECTARED

Quality fruits with a bold red flush. Ripening August/September.

PINEAPPLE

Large, greeny yellow fruits with a crimson red flush. For outdoor growing, this variety will be best in the south, but it excels everywhere under glass. Delicious, melting flesh with a flavour that has just a hint of pineapple! Ripens early September.
